Financial Operations Manager – Managing Consultant


This is a Contract position in Washington Grove, MD posted July 15, 2021.

As the Financial Operations Manager/Managing Consultant, you will be responsible for leading the financial operations, compliance, and accounting/financial reporting activities for financial institutions placed into conservatorship or liquidation. In this role, you will manage a team of 4-5 operations and accounting professions and oversee the institution’s operations in an efficient, effective manner, and protect the assets of the institution. The work will primarily be conducted on-site at the locations/branches of the financial institutions or at the offices of the primary regulator.


Job Description/Responsibilities: 


·         Overseeing operations and compliance activities

·         Conducting internal reporting and regulatory activities

·         Evaluating compliance with federal regulations

·         Analyzing and assessing assets and liabilities to determine the appropriate resolution strategy

·         Overseeing and executing accounting and financial reporting activities

·         Performing due diligence of outside vendors

·         Minimizing operational risk through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls

·         Supporting facilities management activities

·         Conducting project management activities




·         Two years’ demonstrated experience in banking or credit union operations

          ·         Seven years as a bank/credit union Operations Officer or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

·         Four-year business, accounting or other equivalent degree

·         Three years’ managerial/supervisory experience in the financial or mortgage services industries

·         Held position(s) requiring skilled written and oral communication

·         Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all levels

·         Experience in policy and procedure development and implementation

·         Ability to conduct training programs




·         CPA

·         Experience working with financial regulators and closing financial institutions
