Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager General Manufacturing 1 based out of Linthicum, MD. What You’ll get to Do: The Manager General Manufacturing 1 is responsible for the direct supervision of employees and processes in a manufacturing environment. The Manager provides direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies. Overall responsibilities include: driving employee efficiency, meeting product cost and schedule targets, managing the area to produce quality products, and engaging employees to achieve their highest potential. This Manager will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 20 – 25 represented (union) employees. Other responsibilities include:
Providing direction and coaching operators and technicians and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas.
Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of military, manufacturing, maintenance or related experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience (Note, 9 years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
Ability to perform required SAP transactions.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals across all organizational levels and provide status briefings to senior leadership as business requires.
Must be willing and able to be flexible on shift.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance which requires US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area.
Past experience as a leader in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with or knowledge of DOD systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Active DOD Secret Clearance, with investigation completed within the last 5 years, as well as ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
